History
SV300 is a "1 of (literally)" HSV model, and mine is completely original besides the after market alloy rims which were on the car when I purchased it. #65 of 134 produced. VX Commodore based. This model is a series 2 VX and replaced series 1 VX GTS. HSV decided not to make the GTS and Senator in series 2 of VX, but instead to make this "1 of" model SV300. Essentially it is a GTS as far as specifications go, but also has some VX Senator highlights like the front bumper. They came in 3 colour choices: Phantom Black, Hackett Gold, and HSV racing Green. It came standard with 6 speed manual and heritage C4B V8 engine which was hand-built by Reeves Callaway in the states. What makes this engine special is the 300kw power, 45kw more than any HSV produced up to 2001 and Australia's 1st 300kw car. The last HSV given this same engine was the VY GTS of 2004
This motor came standard with ported heads, MAFless, titanium retainers, revised Valve springs and locks, special Cam, larger throttle body etc. A lot of power for a car of that year, and wasn't rivaled until HSVs later model E series, in which only then, did HSV begin to catch up to the same power levels, but only on paper, because E series were still behind on the power to weight ratio - VE's were so much heavier than VX's.
The only other HSV that comes close to looks and specs of the SV300 in my opinion was the VT GTS "series 2 only" - which was the first Australian car to have this engine and power.
Modifications
Factory Sat-Nav optioned. After market 18" ANZ rims and I'm still on the search for original good condition SV300 rims, VCM OTR air intake with K&N air filter, VCM flash tune, Powerbond 25% underdriven Harmonic balancer pulleys & belts, new PAC racing Valve springs & retainers, new MSD leads, new NGK V-Power Spark plugs, new Michelin Pilot SP3 235/35/18, new front bumper original, stainless steel 100cpsi High Flow Cats, Harrop Trutrac 3.91 diff because the original inferior Hydratrak wasn't up to the task anymore; and many new original parts not really worth mentioning that replaced worn and torn parts
