History
1969 MGB Australian CKD, assembled at the Zetland plant Sydney NSW. Unusual chassis number with the omission of the letter 'G' and no compliance plate fitted. A relatively small batch of late 1969 cars were produced between the changeover from BMC to British Leyland. The Sydney plant only had out -of- date BMC compliance plates, not yet having the new BL plates to fit. The decision was made to omit the plates altogether and a change to the chassis number enabled the identification of this unique batch of cars. (see MGBs Made in Australia-Registry). This car was previously shown at the MG Car Club Victoria Concourse, by the previous owner in 2018 and achieved second place. I have upgraded the car with all new running gear, new coil & leaf springs, new shock absorbers, bushes, lower A arms, new brake calipers, new discs, stainless steel exhaust and new quality carpets. The car presents well, drives beautifully and is maintained to a high standard.
