History
The GTR has been confirmed by Holden Engineers that worked on the XW7 Program (V8 LJ GTR Prototype Cars) and By Holden Historical Services that it is the XW7 V8 LJ GTR Prototype from there Records they have from GMH Engineering.
Owned by GMH Salmon street Port Melbourne (Dealer No. 000 M - GMH Port Melbourne)
Vic rego number LDH255.
3 - LJ GTR's were ordered and built on the 13/4/1972 at the Adelaide Plant and then all 3 were sent to Holden Engineering at Port Melbourne, Converted to V8's by Ed Taylors Holden Engineering Crew and the Pink and White GTR's went back and forth from Harry Firth's HDT HQ to Holden Engineering, they were to be the 1972 Bathurst Race Cars (Engineering always put the race cars together first then handed them to Harry Firth) The Orange LJ GTR stayed at Engineering as it was the Engineering Hack and spare race car if any thing happened to the other two.
Fred James the GMH Engine Engineer Guru had the GTR due too the XW7 Engine fitted into it as the Engine was Developed by Fred and Harry Firth and Ian Tate, Fred name is on the LDH255 rego papers.
