History
Purchased this 20,000 mile one owner US spec TX750A from its original owner and am currently restoring it. These 1974 models were not imported new into Australia and the US spec models have 14 Litre fuel tanks as opposed to 17 Litres every where else. Aesthetically the bike was fairly good, had been well looked after and dry stored for over 30 years. The 1974 model TX750A had many mechanical improvements compared to the 1973 model and were now considered reliable right out of the crate. Engine was dismantled to remedy an oil leak and conduct a health check and although it was like new inside, it is receiving new standard pistons and rings, a light hone, new valve seals, HD OEM clutch plates, together with modern upgrades such as electronic ignition, Setrab oil cooler, BMW oil filter/adaptor and 2000 era 22 ball sprauge starter clutch gear vs early 3 ball type. Only about 2,500 US spec 74 models ever produced. This particular bike was also upgraded from new in 1974 with the optional Yamaha chrome headlight, headlight ears and twin front disc.
