History
This was a barn find having broken down in 1965 (the last rego sticker on the quarter window) and spent the following 40 plus years in two sheds in outback Australia. It was an original Australian made car and when purchased was found to have no rust after a full rotisserie sandblast. It was a near perfect shell and panels, a true dream car to restore however every panel was dented. When I pulled the car apart I found the broken synchro in the gearbox which was a common problem. We restored the car with a full nut and bolt restoration, full leather interior over the Triumph Stag bucket seats, rear seats and door trims. The motor was fully reconditioned with mild cam and tripple SU carbys. The gearbox was replaced with a Cortina Type 9 4 speed and the diff was upgraded to Mk2 centre and axles. The car won the Noosa Beach car show for Best Australian sedan and was sold to a chap in England
