History
Bought the car as a first year apprentice mechanic, and spent many years working on and transforming the car from a red (with black vinyl roof) with a tired twin carb 186 powerplant into a quick, reliable car with good looks, handling and braking. Only regret was selling it.
Modifications
Lowered 2 inches, suspension mods, disc brakes, wide low profile tyres.
Hot engine: speedway spec. cam, triple carbs, Mallory ignition, HP steel crank, ported head, dual springs, lots of chrome, hidden engine bay wiring looms, cold air induction, battery in boot, the list goes on.......
Memories
I spent my mechanical apprenticeship and early twenties working on this car, transforming it into a very hot and fast street machine. There were so many memories and heartbreaks that came with owning this car, including it being stolen twice, wrecked, rebuilt and smashed again. It taught me patience, persistence and passion to overcome challenges. I still miss this car and wonder where it ended up.
