History
The Chevelle was imported from New Mexico in November 2009 and I am the first registered owner in Australia having bought the car from the importer. Past history before that is unknown but the car had had a bit of work carried out to make it a bit of a sleeper. The car had thin Chev Rally Wheels fitted and was plain white with a thin single pin stripe down the sides. it had however been fitted with the 406 Small Block, Tricked up Turbo 350 and a 12 Bolt LSD with 3.42 gears.
Modifications
The Chevelle started its life as a Chevelle Malibu Sports Coupe in Metallic Green, 350 SBC, Column Change auto Turbo 350, 10 bolt diff, Bench Seat with Warning Light Dash. I have built it into an SS396 Tribute as it was not a matching number car to begin with but is now a nice looking "Streeter" with enough torque and horsepower to be exhilarating to drive and pull some looks and sounds great doing it.
It is now Arctic White with custom Metallic Black SS Stripes all new interior from sound deadening under the carpet to the roof lining, after market Buckets and retrimmed in Velour, new door trims. A new Dash with Autometer brushed Alloy Gauges are waiting to be fitted shortly as are Wilwood Rear Disc Brakes. It has a 406 SBC Full Roller Engine with fairly aggressive Comp Cam, Steel Crank, Forged Pistons, Edelbrock Manifold/Carb, MSD HEI, Alloy Pulleys, Gear Drive Timing , Hedman Headers/ twin 3" Exhaust, Tricked up Turbo 350 with Qick Change Kit and B&M quicksilver Floor change, 12 Bolt LSD with 3.42 Highway gears. It now has the Black Supalite wheels, 15x8 fronts and15x10 rears fitted with 235/60 and 295/50 . Other mods are Heavy Duty Suspension, Hydra Boost Brake System, Quick Ratio Power Steering, Rear Bootlid aerofoil and all external trims replaced as well as the Bumpers and light Lenses. Very Torquey fun car to drive and extremely reliable (so far).
