History
Barn find in California in 2004, last registered in California in 1980. Imported in 2004 to Australia by Parkline Limo’s of Melbourne. Bought by previous owner who did the paint/Panel and got the engine going needing only a hone, new rings and bearings .The welsh plugs had rusted thru and needed replacing as well. I bought the car showing 96,300 Miles and due to the overall condition of the car inside and out have no reason to question that it is original mileage.Bought by me in 2007 in Taralgon Victoria and driven up to Nelson Bay over 3 days. The vehicle has been used predominantly for weddings and has had very little use over the last 7 years and is still only showing 105,000 Miles. Up until recently it shared the garage with my other 2 1962 Cadillac De Villes which have recently been sold, I have put a photo of them in my past cars along with my Mustangs.
Modifications
New 2 pak bare metal Paint/Panel completed in 2004 by previous owner (Professional Spray Painter) in factory colour Sierra Gold , New Cloth inserts in seats in 2012 as the fabric was just starting to get to the age where it was tearing. New hood lining as the original Napped Cotton had gone from Cream to Caramel with age. The rest of interior including carpet and trim is all original and in as new condition. The Boot has been detailed in dark Grey carpet but retains original panels and bumper jack. Front Disc Brakes with new master cylinder have been fitted to pull the big beast up and rear 15"drums rebuilt. Heavy duty shocks and some rear Air Bags to help the rear springs make it handle real well.
Other than needing some electrical and mechanical repairs as required over the time I’ve cared for her to make this car a reliable weekly not a daily driver it is a true survivor time capsule and drives like a caddy should. The vehicle has had a lot spent in areas that needed it but has been kept as original as possible as it was and still is a very rare extremely well optioned and looked after car This car is also for sale on Carsales if anyone is interested.
