History
Ahhh... the first Porsche I ever owned and loved. The 3.2 litre 231hp engine was only produced in these cars in 1984 and 1985, before the introduction of catalytic converters, etc. and unleaded fuel. The 1986 - 1989 models had less horsepower. This car was so much fun. I did my first track day in this car, which was the start of a life-long addiction. I started competing in Porsche club sprints, and then tarmac rallies (Dutton Rally, etc.), motorkhanas, hill climbs, etc. What an amazing car to learn in. Bought if for $45k and sold it for $58k 5 years later after lots of racing. The only semi-race car I've ever owned that went up in value!
Modifications
Lowered it, stiffened up the springs, put in racing seats and harnesses, race steering wheel, tower-strut brace, brake ducts, racing pipe. That's about it. What a rewarding car for relatively little outlay. And they hold on to their value or appreciate!
