History
Growing up, one of the earliest cars i can remember us having was a 1985 4Runner. I learnt a lot about working on cars with dad on that. Was maroon with a brown interior, white fibreglass roof.
Dad was keen on keeping the car clean and not staining the brown upholstery so made my sister and i sit on old beach towels covering the back seat. He sold the car in 94 which I was a bit upset about. Always missed the car and had in the back of my mind to get one.
Dad passed away in 2012 from cancer. I had the job of clearing out most of thr house. When cleaning out the linen press, hidden at the back was the same towel I had sat on back in the 90s. Took it as a sign so bought a car to do up with my kids and put the same towel back on the rear seat.
Bought the car about 7 years ago now, has the mighty 2L NA diesel motor. Was a chassis off restoration taking nearly 5 years with doing the work part time.
