Bought second hand in 1979. Bog stock apart from a radio cassette.Drove it from Brisbane to Melb in 23 hrs. Including fuel and getting
a blow out relaced. Went to Sydney, and many trips to Fraser Island & Double Island point. No swag for me. Warm & dry in the back.
An unlucky car, 2 prangs, one my fault, in the second I was T boned by Stafan Najic in his VH Valiant at Petrie. The things you remember!
Was never quite the same after that repair.
I sold it in 1985 to help with my house deposit. Still fond memories of it though.
Modifications
6 1/2" Hotwires ( gotta get that offset that 6" rims lacked) Webber 2 bbl down draft carby, disconnected the pollution gear -what there was of it. Advanced the timing & ran it on super. Threw in a killer (for 1980) range topping Pioneer component stereo, with all of 54 watts.
Lined the back with velvet, added a console & carpets from the wreckers.
