History
This vehicle is Peter Brock's HDT Special Vehicles build number 4001. It is also HDT VL SS Group A number 451 of the 500 build to allow Group A Racing. She came out of HDT Special Vehicles on December 17, 1986 & is a fully documented Plus Pack. She is also just so terrific to drive......
The actual HDT racing cars achieved outstanding success on motor racing tracks around the world. Competing against vehicles manufactured by Alfa, Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, Mercedes, Toyota, Volvo & VW, the Holden VL SS Group A achieved:-
- Winning the first round of the World Touring Championships on March 22, 1987 at Monza Italy – driven by Allan Moffat & John Harvey.
- Fourth outright in the Spa, Belgium 24 Hour Race on August 2, 1987 – driven by Allan Moffat, John Harvey & Tony Mulvihill.
- And Winning our Round 8 of the World Touring Car Championships that year as our Bathurst 1000 on October 4, 1987 – driven by Peter Brock, David Parsons, Peter McLeod & Jon Crooke.
