History
The original Car 1957 100-6 BN4 Longbridge built left hand drive for export to the USA
I bought an imported car from an importer who found her in western Texas where the climate is dry and rust is not generally and issue. Based on many, many photos of the underside I made the decision to buy the car off the net as it was far too costly to travel and the price was what I believe was acceptable for the risk.
When she arrived on the back of a tilt tray truck in the street in front of my house she looked great, I got into the driver’s seat and one push of the starter button and she woke up and ran beautifully, although the exhaust was broken and noisy. I drove the car off the truck did a quick lap of the street while no one was looking and drove the car into the back yard, which was the last time the car drew breath for a long time.
After a thorough inspection of the car I was quite impressed with the unit, the chassis looked in great condition, the body panels were straight; there was no visible rust except the left side front outrigger that had taken a hit at some time bending it badly and allowing rust to get in.
That's until I stripped the car and found enough filler to fill a wheelie bin.
