History
Manufactured and licensed in December 1967.
Stolen and recovered by NSW Police in 1973 who returned it to the owner.
Parked in a farm shed in 1981 and then moved out of the shed into a farm paddock in 1983.
Recovered by a friend of the original owner and Mini enthusiast in 2008 where structural and mechanical restoration completed; with the original engine and gearbox.
Purchased in late 2014 by a new owner who converted the vehicle to a 'Track Day' vehicle.
Purchased by current owner in mid-2015 and restored as close to original as can achieve; licensed for the first time in 34 years during late 2015.
Modifications
As the car was originally restored as a 'Track Day' vehicle:
1. Cam Shaft and valves have been modified;
2. The Lockheed Vacuum Brake Power Booster is from a MkII Cooper S; and
3. The twin HS2 SU carburettors have been replaced with twin HS4 SU carburettors.
Otherwise, where possible all original parts were reconditioned and re-assembled onto the car.
