History
I bought the wrecked chassis, engine, side panels, and most of the rest of the scooter from a seller in Ulverstone in 2008. Over the next 11 years, I created a front end from second hand parts as most of it was broken or missing. I sourced a replacement body from a donor scooter - the Vespa is based on a pressed steel monocoque shell frame. I rebuilt the engine, and had the body and some other parts painted in the original colour.
Modifications
The scooter originally had a 6 volt electrical system using points. This failed, and I decided to fit a 12 volt electronic system instead. I have blue tyres for show use, but normal black tyres for road use.
