History
Not sure on the full history, but he came to rest in someone's yard in Townsville after they got a new vehicle and sat there for a while. The owner knew it was something special and wanted it to go to a good home, so offered him to a friend of mine who buys backpacker cars and brings them back, and also runs a detailing business. He's more into older Fords and Fairlanes, and didn't really know much about or care much for the Magna so he rang me to ask about it.
Got him to go look at it and send some pics, and then got him to do the deal for a very good price. Got it back to his place and set about making it beautiful again. Full detail, fix some issues, full service, and set about restoring the paintwork. Used as his business project and display vehicle, many people have admired him and complimented the work. Also been raising awareness of what awesome cars these are.
Back home in Coffs now, my partner and I flew up from Brisbane to drive it all the way home. I've admired the Ralliarts for a while now, and now I own my own unique Diamonds to look after and shine up. Joins a happy household, and will slowly be returned to full glory.
Not a single issue on the return trip down the coast, serviced and checked over once the exhaust was rectified, and I was told only needed tyres and some new brake pads. Can't ask for more than that.
