Purchased for $1000 out of Sydney. VIN plate had been removed at some stage. RMS inspected vehicle and used a 4 digit stamp in the chassis as VIN number. (Probably a part number located right hand side near where VIN plate had been. Sills rusted, doors rusted, exhaaust rusted out, no brakes. Starts and idles nicely. Intend doing her up. Need more funds. The young bloke I bought it from reckoned it was once owned by Ivan Milat and when he died it was taken over by the Government and sold. I don't know how true that is but makes a good story. I've always wanted an Austin 1800. Ugly Duckling and a Swan at the same time.
