History
In September '65 a young fella by the name of Maurice Snow (Snowy) swapped x2 electric guitars and an amplifier for a bone stock black 36 ford coupe. He then proceeded to modify it almost immediately removing all guards, bonnet and grill. He channelled the body 10 inches, bobbed the rear 8 inches and installed Dodge Phoenix tail lights whilst upfront installing a mk5 jaguar grill (closest thing to a 32 Ford that he could find at the time) and then the body was painted Dulon Wildfire Torrid Violet.The coupe won many trophies at the early SA Hot Rod Shows and he still has the trophies (as shown in pic). Snowy sold the coupe in the early 70's to fund his new project which was a 38 Ford sedan which is also still around to this day (but the 38 has had so many owners and changes that it is hardly recognisable)
Modifications
The paintwork is all original paint from the late 60's but due to a previous owner painting the car in house enamel it is showing alot of signs of wear and tear. The previous owner to me removed all the paint with oven cleaner so this did some of the damage. Also all the interior is still the same as when originally built, with the exception of the carpet as it was falling apart so I have had that redone. The 34 grill was installed by the previous owner which suits the flow alot better than the jaguar grill but I am in the process of tracking down a jag grill with the intention of having the option to run either. I have been lucky enough to meet Snowy and now speak regularly and continue to learn more and more about the history of this significant hot rod. There is so much I could write about this old historic hot rod but will leave it at this for now.
