History
This example was one of 2,606 made between May 1945 and end of production in 1952. It was first registered in Peterborough, England and owned by a local identity, who also owned a National Trust listed property. It came to Australia in the 1950's and has had at least six owners before me. A tree fell on the car in the 1990's and it was largely restored including a badly damaged roof. The body is a combination of aluminium and steel and reflects the availability of scarce raw material in austere post war Great Britain. The car was made at the Coventry works in the second half of 1947 and sold new on the 18th September 1947. It is fitted with the optional and revolutionary Wilson Pre-selector gearbox, which makes rapid and noiseless gear-changes easily accomplished by any competent driver.
Modifications
The suspension has been upgraded with the addition of telescopic shockabsorbers.
