History
I purchased this car unrestored in 1971 whilst still at school, it had 6weeks rego & was complete...I paid $15.00, it cost $20.00 to get it towed home to Rockdale in Sydney from Balmain.
After deciding that it was too good to part out I had the engine, brakes, gearbox& diff rebuilt and did up the body myself. Unfortunately the original 6 cylinder engine wasn't rebuilt properly so I decided to hotrod the car after it attended the 1st ASRF Street Rod Nats at Neranderra in 1973.
I installed the 318 Poly V8 engine, Torqueflite gearbox & diff from a 1962 Chrysler Royal and updated the rest of the car over the next 4 or 5 yrs. The Dodge has been shown in a number of NSW Hot Rod Shows, attended Rod Runs in Neranderra, Canberra, Mildura, Melbourne, Brisbane, Orange, Coffs Harbour and most places in between.
The car was regularly used to drive to work as well as being used for a number of weddings and brought the owners 3 children home from hospital as newborn babies.
This year marks its 48th year in the same ownership.
