History
Not really known. It came from Gympie but the prior owner at the Gold Coast did the engine conversion. Always wanted a Stag and I hope it will not be a love hate relationship. When I purchased the car the engine was dead. So we have had to do a lot of work to get it back up to scratch. It is now running sweet with stacks of power.
Modifications
4.4 ltr Leyland V8 with some smart extractors. Has a big 3 core radiator and also datsun rear half shafts. I have fitted a Saloon diff with a higher ratio 3.4 to 1 which is better than the standard Stag diff. What it really needs is a higher ratio 4th gear. Currently running Borg Warner 3 speed 65 auto and I would like to stay with the auto transmission so will look around for a 4 speed that will fit.
