History
Purchased in Adelaide January 2017... drove home to Rye, Vic over the next 2 days with not much floor, marshmallows for engine mounts and a separated exhaust at manifold. (dust & rust in my beard / hair and a slight headache from exhaust fumes all coming up through the gaps in the rusty floorpans).
Since then it's been a joy getting her sweeter & sweeter towards my liking.
Modifications
Radiator reconditioned.
New coil. Alternator rewound.
All new hoses inc. heater hose.
New waterpump & T-stat housing.
New 2bbl 330cfm Holley Carby.
K&N 9" Chrome Air Filter.
Rocker cover resprayed to original turquoise blue.
Extractors and 2" straight through exhaust fitted.
Dip stick replaced and raised so it's easily accessible through extractors.
Replaced valve stem seals, points, plugs, leads and vacuum advance unit.
a). Autometer 2 3/4" tacho on steering column.
b). Automater 2" clock in dash below light switch. Both a) & b) dials to maintain same needle / background / lighting style as the original display.
Repainted dash chrome and regular dash fascia.
Recovered dash pad cover with black vinyl skin.
Replaced steering wheel with Regal White / Black Str Wheel.
Sand Blasted / Powder Coated standard burgundy rims (Supercat 195 60 14 tyres)...
Recently replaced by period correct machined ROH Rockets & "Bridgestone Radial T/A's" with RWL 195 60 14 front and 235 60 14's at rear. (required changing stub nuts on LHS to right hand thread to fit chrome nuts).
Pioneer Mechless Stereo installed.
Replaced bench seat with burgundy split bench (ex-Pacer Front Seat) SS cup holders in centre arm rest.
Drum brakes all around repaired replaced all axle bearings.
Cleaned up n changed diff oil.
Rear bar re chromed at Vinnie's bars of Dandenong.
Currently:
- installing 2nd battery in rear side panel.
- repairing tailgate with new skin.
- rust proofing all panels.
- respraying chassis rear end.
- replacing roof lining.
- decking out back section with black vinyl and tread board.
- adding external sun visor.
