History
It was the 14th of April, 1979, and the fuel crisis was just begining to really hurt. Super was just over $1.00 a gallon (about 0.25c a litre), and everyone knew that you had to get out of that 6 or 8 that you were driving before you had to give it away. So I took $5280 down to Claridge Motors and bought myself a brand new TD Gemini.
Modifications
After adding a front and rear spoiler and louvre, wheels, TA radials (F 225/50 X 13 and R 235/60 X 13's) Webber, extractors, Pioneer stereo and all the other crap that you had to have in the day .... I suddenly realised that I had a car that had cost me more than a really nice HK Monaro GTS in Silver Mink, and I was getting about 3 MPG better fuel economy.
Some lessons are learned hard, and scar you for life.
