History
I am the second owner of this very original 1986 BMW 5 Series sedan. The car was built in Munich in 1986 and arrived in Australia in 1987 due to the world economic crisis affecting car sales, etc at that time. The car was later sourced from BMW in Melbourne with approx. 3000 km on the clock and came to Albury NSW in early 1988 where it was pampered until I was able to purchase it in 2016. It then had just over 88,000 km on the clock.
Since then I have worked on bringing the car up to a standard for showing at shows in Albury/Wodonga, Melbourne and Sydney.
Modifications
My BMW has two sets of five alloy wheels and tyres to suit. The factory original alloys have new Michelin TRX European spec tyres fitted that I use when I show the car. The five alloys that use Australian spec tyres are from an E39 model and serve for general driving.
The car has had no modifications except for replacement parts, e.g. under bonnet sound proofing, plenum covers, shock absorbers, a control arm, windscreen, bonnet badge and wheel insert BMW badges.
