History
Built by South Australian Railways in 1941 and delivered to the Australian Army around late April the same year.
The Machine Gun Carrier LP2, or more commonly known as a Bren Gun Carrier was a light tracked armoured vehicle used by the Australian Army through WW2 and in the Korean War. All the mechanicals are Ford - engine, gearbox and diff.
I acquired the carrier in 2011 from a nearby farm. It had been cut down, cause farmers used them as a ready source of good hard steel whenever needed. It's been a slog to source many of the parts to restore it back to its original condition.
Modifications
Im updating the electrics from 6V to 12V just for reliability and commonality, otherwise it will be as per original.
