Manufactured in Dagenham for export to North American Market.
Sold new by Koch Motors in Edmonton, Canada in 1966.
Somehow made it to California, USA, and then imported to Australia 2006. Purchased by me in 2007 and trucked from Gold Coast Qld to Albany WA.
18 month rotisserie restoration with many new old stock parts used.
Driven regularly for a couple of years and then I decided to modify it to use in the Albany Around the Houses street race.
Modifications
Front suspension was changed to adjustable coil over setup with eccentric top mounts and Lotus steering arms. Original GT 3.0:1 steering box has been retained.
Rear end lowered with GAZ adjustable shocks.
Front brakes upgraded to vented discs with M16 calipers.
Original self adjusting 9 inch rear drum brakes retained.
Original GT engine removed and replaced with 711M based pre-xflow with 83.5mm forged pistons, SCAT cast steel crank, 244 cam, steel flywheel and front pulley, ARP stud and nut sets for main caps and head, big valve ported and chambered head and twin Weber DCOE 45's.
Gearbox fitted with 2000E gearset and Extreme clutch and welded locked 4.1:1 diff. Wheels are 6 inch Superlite with Toyo Proxes 185/60R13 tyres. Race seat and harness fitted.
