History
The car is one of only 517 1932 Ford roadsters built by the Ford Motor Company, Geelong, in 1932. It is a genuine Ford steel body, not a reproduction and all the external body fittings, lights, horn etc are originals, not reproductions. The components of the 1932 Fords were all shipped in "knock down" state from the Walkerville plant of the Ford Motor Company of Canada and assembled at the Geelong plant. I am unaware of the car's original history but believe it was a Queensland car. It was hot rodded in its later years and eventually sold to an enthusiast in Melbourne and completely rebuilt and re-engineered in the early 1990s winning Top Roadster at the 1991 Melbourne Hot Rod Show. The car has lived a very sheltered life since then.
Modifications
The car runs a high performance 350 Chevrolet V8 with 350 Turbo Hydra automatic transmission and "coil over shocks" mounted LSD Ford 9" differential. The front end is independent with disc brakes. Steering is rack and pinion.
