History
I purchased this motorcycle in December 1982 when it was about 6 months old. The first owner bought it on the European delivery plan and rode it around Europe and then had it shipped home.
My wife and I then used it for about 20 years and traveled about 80,000 km on it. I parked it in the garage, as a restoration project, after a gearbox shaft broke.
In 2003, a friend asked me if it was for sale to his brother. Unfortunately, my wife was in earshot, so I couldn't say no (there were two other motorcycles in the garage by this time).
In late 2015, my friend's brother let me know it was for sale, and now it's back in my garage with the restoration underway. I also bought a BMW R100S at this time, also a restoration project.
The R100RS is being made ready for the road with minimum work and when it is ride-able, I'll start a full resto on the R100S. When that is done, the R100RS will come off the road for a full restoration to its original glory.
