History

Bought in '96. Third owner. Was well used and pretty tired but all there. Car was built in Oct 74 in Adelaide and one of the first off the production line. I basically rebuilt the entire car less a repaint. Restored and drove her over a 15 year period and finally passed her on to a fellow enthusiast. Replaced by a 2004 CV8 which was built in Oct 2004, exactly 30 years after the HJ was built.

Modifications

Car was kept stock to preserve its originality. Slightly warmer cam fitted when engine was rebuilt as were hardened valve seats so as I could run it on ULP. Car was fitted with a set of HM headers when purchased. These were replaced by original cast iron manifolds during the rebuild to reduce the noise the headers made. Only visible mod was an electric fan from BA Falcon and this was fitted to reduce the god almighty noise the original fan made. The difference it made was very noticeable noise wise and the motor ran far cooler.
