I was lucky enough to be part of the Melbourne Formula 1 Drivers Parade in 2005 in my beautiful 1957 MGA. It was a randon choice that I ended up with Giancarlo Fishichella. Unfortunately he turned away at the critical moment when the first photo was being taken. Behind me was Mark Webber and in front was the great Michael Schumacher.

When it was time to start the parade Schumacher's MGA in front of me was surrounded by the worlds motoring press. I was hesitant to driver towards the crowd of people but a track marshall called out to me to drive now and assured me that the press people will move out of the way. So I accelerated towards them and sure enough, they parted like the Red Sea for Moses and we were thru. It was a very memorable experiance and I was surprised how clearly the words of encouragement could be heard from the crowds as we drove around the circuit. The atmosphere was electric and I rekon all the F1 drivers enjoyed the experiance as much as us mere-mortals in our MGA's.

Fisichella went on to win that race and I tell everyone he won because he listened to my advice as we drove around the circuit on the parade lap. Well that's my story and I'm stickng to it.
