History
Just completed 6.5 year restoration basically from ground up. Jensen built 1024 MK 1 Interceptors and there are around 360 still left worldwide. These were powered by a 383 Chrysler V8 matched with a 3 speed Torqueflite transmission. Around 60 still exist in Australia. My wife first saw the Jensen Interceptor as a 20 year old when it was displayed at the Sandown Park raceway in Melbourne in 1970. She had always loved the shape and when this car appeared on ebay as full restoration project, we/she had to get it. It has been a labour of love, not to mention frustration, sweat and money. But the final result has made all the hard work in our family garage worthwhile. My wife is now wanting to drive the car more and more. It is a pleasure to drive and it gets plenty of looks out on the road.
Modifications
Only real modifications was fitment of air conditioning which was not available back then and was never engineered in the Mk 1. Also original rostyle wheels were 15x5 and were not on the car when bought. Have fitted 15x7 sprintmasters which are almost identical to original wheels.
