I bought her in June 2010 as a stock standard Red XLS and within 8 months spent a whole lot of coin and transformed her into what you see now
Modifications
AU/BF HYBRID --
Lowered 40mm all round, new springs, new shocks, Brembo brake upgrade with drill & slotted rotors, heart transplant with a freshened up 220kw TE50 5.0lt and aT5 box. New XR 50 front and an 07 BF XR8 Tub and cabin skirt kit, BF body moulds, BF guard indicators, sports bar, Clear tail lights new custom built twin system and new diamo 18 x 8.5" rims wrapped in 245 Silverstones, Brand new 0km Tickford dash cluster, Black & Grey BF XR8 Seat trims custom made to fit the AU seats, New 2din Multi Media Station with TV, CD/DVD, GPS, Radio, Bluetooth, iPod, USB Port, and Rear View IR Camera. All new Sony Big Watt Speakers in the doors and Pillars as well as a custom made Sub box the behind the centre console and seats that houses 2 x 12" Rampage Woofers, all juiced up with a 5000w amp behind the drivers seat. The Subbys and amp are separated by an aircraft toggle switch on the dash so you can listen to the smooth sounds for standard music & movies or flick the switch for the Deep Boom Boom of Adrenaline Pumping Insane Decibells. Lots more little things, but to much to mention right now. I only have one more modification I want to make by adding the BF Power bulge to the bonnet with the new series 2 Shaker hanging out the top. Then my baby that I call "LUCY" will be completely finished and a true custom AU/BF HYBRID that I like to call a BUF.
The comment was made to me, why didnt I use the FPV badges? Well, to be kind of politically correct, I have used the BF XR8 Badges around the body, simply because they are a better looking badge than the AU badges plus they suit the BF tub and skirts but I kept the tickford badges rather than the FPV as it has a genuine handbuilt Tickford 5.0lt. not a Boss. I was also asked, why didnt I just buy a BF, it would have been cheaper? Well its not about the money, its because I wanted to build something with my own two hands that I liked, and there are parts of both models I like better, for instance I prefer the rounded lines of the AU dash and interior and of course they main point is that I prefer the XR5O Pursuit front of the AU rather than the standard BA/BF XR front. So I am extremely proud of my build, especially as I did it all myself from the engine to the paint, without help from anyone! Some uneducated people that think I built a replica or mocka of an XR8, well clearly that is not the case, as this is a one off creation! I have never seen another hybrid like mine, thats not to say there isn't one or two out there somewhere. Anyhow, happy motoring to you all.
