History
Brought the car for $200 in 2009 at age 15. The deal with dad was I would do a cheap fix up and sell it on for a profit.
(Needed some mechanical work and a respray).
The car took just over a year to get back in order and by that stage I had my P plates.
I loved driving the car so much I ended up keeping it and using it for a daily driver for 2 years.
There are plenty of memories from this car as it was a proper âfirst carâ. In a generation where things like air conditioning and window demisters and Bluetooth are standard equipment, going into this car for a lot of my friends was prehistoric.
Cold starts with a carby, buckets of water and chamois for the windows every morning, a lack of air conditioning and vinyl seats on a 40+ degree day.... All experiences I will never forget and never regret.
It was the perfect first car and it always has a special place in my heart.
Currently it is being further restored by my uncle (the new owner); he has vowed it will stay in the family from here on end.
Modifications
Full respray in Heron white. (was cream)
13" jellybean wheels from UC Torana.
OEM replacement clutch and flywheel.
Rebuilt aussie 4 speed shifter and linkages.
All new suspension bushes.
Body rubber kit (boor, doors, etc).
Basic stereo with 2 speakers.
Tinted.
As of 2014 has rare under-dash air conditioning installed.
All new seat foam, etc.
New carpets.
New inlet manifold, heater core, alternator, fuel pump... All rebuilt to OEM specifications.
Installed a 2.5" single muffler exhaust on my P plates. Was very very loud...
Now has a 2 inch system with two mufflers; no more drone and no more loud.
