History
I have owned this car since 1995, I bought the car from a guy in Queensland who imported it from New Zealand in the early 1990âs. In New Zealand it lived itâs life in Timaru on the South Island, Itâs original registration number was AP5230. It had many owners in New Zealand and I have heard it said that cars from Timaru suffer less from rust than anywhere else in the country.
Modifications
The engine was removed and rebuilt, compression ratio raised to 8.5:1, a mild cam from Wadeâs was fitted, flywheel lightened, engine balanced and ports matched, I later fitted a pair of S.U. carburettors which gives good power and excellent economy around 32m.p.g. It is also fitted with a 123 electronic ignition system which is light years better than the original Lucas system. The rest of the car is standard with original size 165x400 wheels and Michelin tyres.
