History
After longing for a 190SL for many years I finally got my chance at a Shannons Auction in 2019.
This car's history was a little obscure but I managed to obtain the production certificate from Mercedes Headquarters who confirmed it was a rare Melbourne delivered 190SL in original Black duco. The car was restored in the 1990's by a photographer in the Sydney who by all accounts did an excellent job. I have made a few minor improvements / corrections to make it factory correct. I also had the duco ceramic coated so it shines for many years.
The car drives beautifully and turns a lot of heads. It has pride of place as the prettiest car in my small collection.
Modifications
Car has factory radio.
Via great effort I managed to source the factory correct lead acid battery which perfectly fits to the battery frame.
I also sourced the correct gear knob and wiper washer bottle.
