History
Posted after reading It happened in a Holden,, excellent stories of the true Australian icon I received for Xmas 2014,,, It was a sad day 11/12/2013 when GM announced the inevitable closure of Holden Australia, I look back at my youth at this brutal equipment,, the real steel, the real cars I have owned in my past and still do now,,the current one being an Atomic Green Mica VE SSV 6.0Litre Ute,,you can see the Holden history simply in its colour,,its Sandman heritage,,green with black stripes,,it says F U to these imported yawn mobiles and really it all seems an eon ago now. There really is nothing quite like open highway with windows down in something like it was in the 80's,,,or cruising down Cronulla with everyone piled in the back,,,it was part of being a bloke,,,part of being Australian.. No matter what the reason,,,no matter what the names they call it,, standard global platforms, global trade,,no matter what the money we have sold our soul on what was a true Australian icon name and product. R.I.P Holden replaced by an i-phone, labelled sandshoes, supplements and a black Korean SUV with people to busy and self-centered to take any notice,,,To blokes my age you really have lost your way if youre driving this sellout rubbish,, new age gets away with it because they never had the freedom, chance or choice,,,,.
