My first car, and as it turned out to be the second one sold in NSW, Arnold Glass had the first one; both were "Journo" specials, ie especially prepared and balanced to 9500 rpm max so they couldn't blow it up over-revving.... Campaigned for 11 years in sprints, drags, motorkhanas, rallies, and other club activities since I became the inaugural Treasurer of the Datsun Sporting Car Club of Australia. Finally sold it with 145,000 miles on the clock for more than I bought it still going strong after one engine refresh at 120,000 miles. . Regularly (monthly) drove Sydney North Shore to Melbourne Eastern Suburbs overnight in less than 7 hours, legally, on the old Hume Highway. 1:4 mix of methanol to Super petrol with 1 deg retard made a significant improvement in power and cost less per mile.
Modifications
Nudge bar of my design was essential in Sydney metro to protect the driving and fog lamps.
