History
Fascinating history, ordered on October 1978, built in Melbourne, delivered new in Cape Town February 1979, same owner until 1994, then purchased by a car enthusiast, who had power steering added, He and his wife eventually emigrated to Perth in 2001. I met them and saw the car on a classic car rally I organised through the Kimberley in 2006 and told them that if ever they decided to sell the car, I had to have the opportunity of buying it. The car came to me, as only the third owner, in November 2007. I was then lucky enough to find the number plate LARRIKIN was available.
Modifications
Put a decent sounds system / iPod connection in,. other than that, it's had a new radiator, a front end rebuild and a new clutch. The body looks great and is pretty good for its age (been resprayed at one stage in its life (it's the original factory ordered colour, with the vinyl roof), but will need to be taken down to bare metal and repainted etc some time in the next two or three years, however it drives magnificently and the interior is just like it came out of the factory, all original, even down to the Mk 1V under-dash air con.
