History
Finished Build Date: December 1986
Delivered to the UK in January 1987
Imported to Australia in March 1996
I purchased the vehicle (un sighted) from Adelaide in March 2016 and had it delivered via private transport to its new home in NSW.
The car had multiple issues when purchased, (that I knew about) and I have spent the last 12 months restoring the vehicle back to its former glory using OME parts, which is the car you now see in the photos.
Its an ongoing project, but its
100% rust free
clean
straight
an honest vehicle and a decent representation of the iconic Porsche 944.
The story behind the plates QIK-944 (I am asked all the time).
Originally when I purchased the vehicle (un sighted) and with the information I was given from the PO, The vehicle had a blown motor.
My plans were to remove the motor and install an LS1 V8 as a custom build (hence the plates QIK-944)
Turns out, the only thing wrong with the motor was worn valve guides and seals, so I decided to keep the car 100% original, with the original motor.
The vanity plates sort of grew on me even though I never went ahead with the conversion, so I decided to keep them.
