History
I am the second and longest owner of this vehicle having purchased it in 1974 as a young man that always loved the HQ and wanted something to cruise the streets in style. (See more info in Stories section)
Modifications
Although in the past it was modified to perform well on the dragstrip as well as the street. The current restoration is placing most items back to its original configuration including salisbury rear end, power steering and air conditioning.
However the 350 chev will have just a little extra attitude than standard with higher compression and a performance cam plus Pacemaker headers to help breathe a little and make the ride more enjoyable.
Original 1971 350 engine now reconditioned for first time and back in vehicle with matching numbers and correct quadrajet. I have kept the extractors for now and she still puts a smile on the dial every time.
The horsepower is down a little but much smoother and the exhaust burble is still enjoyable and very nostalgic.
Manual valve body on TH400 is now back to normal auto with a shift kit for better efficiency.
