History
I bought this car many years ago off a mate who had it since new,
it was fitted with 318 Chrysler V8 And auto
And had been a V8 For most of its life.
After buying it I raced it at willowbank and ran a 13.1 @108mph.
My ultimate goal was to find a way to get it legally registered in Queensland.
After many hoops to jump through with engineering and transport department requirements, I managed to be able to finally get it street legal and registered with a SBC so out came the Chrysler motor and in went my 383 and powerglide.
I upgraded the brakes to commodore Discs to make it stop and fitted 15" standard rims to clear the brakes which then also aloud me to get a bigger tyre on it.
I also fitted a 31 spline 9" diff to it as well.
It was the ultimate Street sleeper and running low 10's it was definitely fun to drive,
After only getting a couple of runs at the track with it I got the letter to say it's way too fast and now needed a full cage, Andra Tech & licence etc etc.
I had decided i wasn't going to do all that as the cage would take away the sleeper look that I had achieved.
After a few years I sold it to a guy who basically just on sold it again and it now lives in S.A running low 9 sec times.
It has since appeared in street machine magazine on the Drag Challenge week still looking as good as ever.
It was Definitely one of my favorite cars I've built.
