History
Imported from Italy. The 850 Spider is closely related to the 850 Coupe but only produced in LHD for Europe and the US. It was designed and built by Fiat’s specialist carrozzeria, Bertone. Famed stylist Giorgetto Giugiaro led the design team.
This Spider is ASI certified (Autoclub Storico Italiano), meaning it carries provenance of date of manufacture, original engine and ownership titles etc.
The car is fitted with a stronger 903cc engine (100GBS.000) which produces 52hp (39.5kW).
Note: Unlike most convertibles, the soft top is concealed by the body tonneau cover, providing a much cleaner look when the top is down.
It’s estimated there are only about twenty-five 850 Spiders in Australia.
