History
The original car was destroyed in an accident in 1986 and I kept the wreck. I commenced a bare shell restoration during early 2006 prior to retirement. This involved reshelling the car so it's unfortunately no longer original. The work was completed in December of 2009. With the exception of the dash trim and rear parcel shelf (materials sourced from GB) all the interior is original.
Modifications
The 9FXEY engine was bored to +040" and fitted with Mahle forged pistons in 1976. It's now fitted with a modified head, a Kent MD296 camshaft and lightened rockers. The standard twin 1.25" SUs remain with a Maniflow LCB extractor. Externally the engine appears standard but that camshaft should be in a race engine not a road engine but it does sound nice.
The flares are original factory "Group 2" wheel arch extensions in order to legally cover the 6"x10" Minilite wheels. Suspension is all original Hydrolastic while the subframes and components are powdercoated.
