History
Originally belonged to the principal of a Brisbane HSV dealership, before being sold with 7,000km on the clock. I was the 3rd owner, purchasing the vehicle in 1997 with just 33,000km on the odometer. I sold the vehicle in 2002 with 110,000km on it, as it was my daily drive.
Modifications
After owning the vehicle for just 3 weeks, the 4 speed automatic decided to give up the ghost. Given the cost to repair the automatic was identical to replace it with a new 5 speed manual transmission, I decided to go with the manual option for a sportier performance. Whilst it was in the shop I had a chip/cam option installed and also had a ceramic clutch installed and a stainless steel exhaust system fabricated. It included Brock extractors into twin 65mm pipes, through the catalytic converters, then mufflers before the axle, and exited the mufflers in 76mm diameter. I also upgraded the brakes to 365mm cross-drilled and slotted front dics and Brembo 6-piston callipers, then 330mm discs on the rear, also drilled and slotted and the 6 pot callipers. The suspension was kept standard for the majority, just lowered 25mm at the front and 12.7mm at the rear and bilstein shocks. I also upgraded the sway bars to FE3 spec. The car was a rocket when I wanted to have a little fun, but also quite economical when it was driven with respect, which was 99% of the time.
