When I was a student I had a part time job at the local music store in Bondi. I found this MGA for $2,500 (it was 1980). I went to the local bank to see if I could borrow some money and the teller said no way which wasn't surprising seeing I was a broke student, then the manager said what sort of car were you thinking of buying and when I said is was a MGA for $2500 he said why didn't you say so! I'm Vice President of the MG car club I think I can do something for you, and lent me the money. I had the car for quite a few years until I sold it for $5,000 and bought a 1955 Porsche 356 A sunroof coup for $6,000. The bank manager never spoke to me again.
