History
I bought in 1979 from the original owner, who purchased it from Pound Motors in Carlton Vic mid-year 1952. It is therefore a genuine two owner vehicle
Modifications
Replaced the original (tired) motor with one retrieved from a Type 3 auto, modified and fitted with bigger barrels to 1640 cc, modified to 12V,(original 6V starter motor was still operating perfectly after 36 years and continues to do so). Headlights were made sealed beams with clear front lens. Semaphores were de-commissioned (but left in place) and heart tail-lights were modified for indicators, a '62 conical Kombi front flasher lens was split vertically and each half mounted behind the clear headlight lens with 21w flasher globe behind. Interior was all original and in excellent condition, but I fitted a 1500 steering wheel and indicator arem, also a quick shift. Motor was standard apart from decent dizzy and an electric pump. carby was a 32mm. Fancy wheels are actually standard hubcaps that I cut sections out of to reveal the wheel nuts. Replaced the gearbox and front axle with '65 Beetle ones. I sprayed it with 8 coats of custom Duco in 1980 and it still looks good today. However, I had an offer I couldn't refuse and she's gone to an excellent home where further attention has been lathered on her
