History
This vehicle is a 1972 Ford Capri GT V6 3000.
My dad bought the Capri in 1979 and I helped Dad as a 13 year old boy cut out rust and repaint the Capri in the original colour of Lime Glaze.
I remember when the painting was done at home, grasshoppers landed all over it, and we had to wait until paint was dry and then rub down again, and repaint again. Dad was not happy !!
I then bought the Capri off Dad as an 18 year old as my first car (Dad talked me out of buying an original XY Falcon GT for $10,000 and sold me the Capri for $1000)
I then I had the Capri resprayed Ford Monza Red in 1986 (red is always 10mph faster when your young !!).
It has been in the family ever since.
I have just had a full nut / bolt restoration done with Munster Muscle Cars in Perth and as I am a lot wiser now, I have had repainted back in the original factory colour of Lime Glaze and is absolutely stunning.
I will hand down to my kids, but not too soon !! Still got lots of driving to do yet.
