History
Originally ordered as a Government Order in April 1965 and built in San Jose. It started life with a 240 straight 6, medium blue crush vinyl seats and no exterior colour listed (believed to be white based on paint layers). It is a factory right hand drive.
Not sure what happened between arrival and it becoming a Variety Bash Car. It spent numerous years doing the bash and got some upgrades.
These included a 390 V8, bigger diff, more shocks and springs than it could ever need now, power steering, bigger wheels and a ridiculous amount of gauges. It did the bash for an unknown number of years before moving into a carport and driven very little. I bought it as a 40th birthday present for the wife and we have been slowly doing some work to bring is back to life as a regular driver.
Replaced the worn engine with a 460, redid the gearbox as we had it out anyway (new plates and changed it to full auto), resprayed the engine bay and removed all the stuff that has been added and disconnected over the years, redid the wiring harness, new shocks and springs, diff repaired. Now just planning the roof rust repairs and body work tweaks. It will never be original or one for the show, but its loved, driven and staying in the family for many years to come.
