History
I do not know much about the history of this vehicle, I purchased this vehicle sight unseen from a fella in Western Australia off Gumtree, who purchased two vehicles from a mechanic in a one horse town 350km east from Perth called Pingaring.
The original owner was an old Swedish / Nordic bloke about 70 years old, I was told from the person I purchased the vehicle from that he was a real old rock-a-billy with slicked up Elvis hair a very cool looking dude.
He had been the local mechanic, jack of all trades out there for long time and the Jeep was his work ute. He was not the original owner and had been keeping his eye out for years for a Willys Pickup and came across one and used it for many years until he had retired and sold off his business and vehicles, there were two Willys pickup an original which I have and a second with a Ford engine kept by the person I purchased my vehicle from.
I was told that the old mechanic let the rego laps and just drove it round with his own made up number plate that came with the vehicle, for 4 years or so even though he lived 3 houses up from local police station in town.
My intention is to keep the vehicle original and for the time being will be my weekend driver until I can fully restore the vehicle as a retirement project.
