first Volvo to do 150mph and first car in world to have side airbags.
TWR and Volvo developed the t5r with help of porshe and came up with this beast! peter brock raced one in 1995 12 hour Bathurst race and with jim Richards in 1996 with jim to carry on and winning the 1996 amp super tourer race in Bathurst.
when new these were $80 000 and only around 27 to 30 cars came to Australia.
0-100km in 6.7 seconds and top speed 246km!
2.3 5 cylinder 20 valve port direct injected fwd turbo engine produce 177kw and 330nm torque! also had abs brakes and traction control.
ths one is my baby and I do get a lot of comments even from commodore owners who can only see the tail lights! :)
